Travelers Rest’s most storied wine & craft beer shop redefined appreciation for wine upon its arrival in 2015. Since then, The Tasting Room has become a popular community space in Travelers Rest offering a unique experience to wine and beer lovers.
The Tasting Room
The Tasting Room offers a wide selection of wines from around the world – not mass-produced wines but small production vineyard wines. It’s true, there can be quality winemaking in wines produced in large quantity, but wine from small-production wineries has true artisan-ship, that’s why they are specializing in small production wines.
Whether you’re a connoisseur or a casual enthusiast, they are ready to help you select the perfect bottle of wine to suit your mood. You can enjoy it in the cozy space inside the shop or out in the back deck. They also have craft beers for those that love beer as well.
With a family-friendly setting, as well as a back deck that offers not just seating but lovely views, the Tasting Room is the perfect place to spend a relaxing hour or two before or after lunch and dinner. Open Tuesday to Sunday, the Tasting Room provides a wonderful opportunity to sample a large variety of wines from all over the world. The next time you’re down for some wine, head on over to The Tasting Room. The atmosphere is perfect for trying new wines!
The Tasting Room also offers its ample and cozy space for private events. Their well-furnished private event space is ideal for receptions, showers, parties, and meetings.
The Tasting Room Wine Club
The Tasting Room has its Wine Club exclusive to its 100 members. Members get the first dibs on tastings, special member-only events, member-only pricing on wines purchased at events, purchase opportunities of special wines made first available to members, and even have opportunities to join on wine tasting/education trips.
Wine enthusiasts interested to join the club will be put on the waitlist once the maximum number of members has been reached.
The Tasting Room in the time of COVID-19
2020 has been a year of challenges. When the previous owner, Evan Rutter, passed the legacy of the wine bar to Christine Seiler in March, lockdowns and concerns about the ongoing pandemic fundamentally affected her plans for the shop. When the governor barred on-site consumption of food and beverages across the state to help curb the spread of the coronavirus, this left the business scrambling.
Nevertheless, Christine displayed fortitude and agility in the face of adversity, quickly pivoting to provide services ranging from curbside delivery to virtual wine tastings.
In the next few months, when reopening permitted shops to resume on-premise services, they had to rethink safety from the ground up, with new requirements in place for social distancing, cleaning, and sanitizing. The Tasting Room adheres to the guidelines set by the state and local governments.
