Greenville County Rent and Utilities Assistance Program Accepts Applications

Greenville County has received funding from the Federal Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 funds for rent and utility assistance.

Greenville County has received nearly $16 million to help eligible county residents with past-due rent and utility bills.

Those in Greenville County who have lost jobs or income as a result of Covid-19 can now apply for the program. To qualify, recipients must also show that they are at risk of eviction and have a household income of at least 80% of the area median income, which in Greenville County is less than $60,000 per year for a family of four.

Starting April 1, 2020, eligible households may receive up to 12 months of assistance, with the possibility of an additional three months if the applicant can demonstrate additional need.
