Anderson residents will soon have the opportunity to enjoy an excellent rooftop venue with fantastic views, good food, and refreshing drinks.
The City of Anderson announced that the first rooftop restaurant in the city will soon open in the downtown area.
According to officials, the new restaurant UP on the Roof will open a location in Anderson on top of the new public parking garage located at South McDuffie and East Market Streets behind the Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel.
“We built the garage facility with it in mind to attract a roof-top venue to add to our scope of amenities downtown,” said Mayor Terence Roberts. “Over and over again, we heard that this type of place is something the community wanted and would embrace. We believe that UP on the Roof is a perfect fit and exciting addition to our growing food scene.”
For a distinct dining experience in the heart of the city, Up on the Roof intends to offer both indoor and outdoor seating. With locally sourced seasonal ingredients, their menu specializes in small, shareable plates and seasonal Southern dishes.
The new restaurant will be open for dinner from Wednesday through Sunday and brunch on the weekends.
Construction will start right after the restaurant team has made the needed adjustments to the area to support their full-service operation. According to city officials, the company will offer up to 40 jobs to individuals who work in the local service sector.
The first Anderson’s location will open in early 2023, according to Stephanie Tobben, the restaurant’s director of communications. This will be UP on the Roof’s third location after their rooftop locations in Greenville, SC, and Alpharetta, GA.
