Spartanburg Became Home To South Carolina’s Fourth Chef’Store

The newest location of the warehouse-style grocery chain CHEF’STORES is now open in Spartanburg.

The company now has four CHEF’STORE locations in South Carolina, with the others being in Charleston, Columbia, and Myrtle Beach. Spartanburg is the latest of these locations to open at 300 W. Blackstock Road, across from the Westgate Mall. The new 33,000 square foot CHEF’STORE is the 83rd location nationwide.

According to store executives, CHEF’STORES wants to become a part of the Spartanburg food scene and support the growth of local restaurants. CHEF’STORE will provide everything chefs, restaurant owners, community organizations, and families could possibly need for their kitchens.

“It’s a great, vibrant community with a great restaurant scene,” Michael Krippinger, director of Store Sales & Marketing for CHEF’STORE, said. “It’s exciting for us because it’s our fourth store in South Carolina, and it’s a great opportunity for us to be a part of a great restaurant scene. We hope to be partners with them [restaurants] to help them grow.”

CHEF’STORE does not require customers to sign up for a membership like other wholesale markets do. Daily deliveries of goods ensure that customers can buy fresh ingredients.

Customers can purchase more than 4,000 products, including fresh meat, produce, dairy, deli fare, and frozen seafood, in bulk or individually, depending on their needs. Along with these items, the store offers janitorial supplies, beverages, food, and supplies for catering.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 6 am to 6 pm and on Sundays from 8 am to 5 pm.
