On August 3, the Greer Police Department will host National Night Out in four different locations.
From 6-8 p.m., law enforcement authorities will be cooking free hot dogs and will be socializing with residents.
The National Night Out is a great opportunity to bring cops and neighbors together in a friendly setting. According to the National Police Federation, National Night Out strengthens relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while restoring a true sense of community.
Sgt. Jeff Smith said, “We want to get back to that local block-party atmosphere that encourages interaction between the residents and those who serve them,” “After the past year, we also hope residents will feel more comfortable in a smaller group setting with distancing opportunities for those who desire them.”
The 2021 National Night Out event will be held at the following locations:
- Needmore Recreation Center at 222 Canteen Ave.
- Greentown Park at 300 Moss St.
- Suber Road Baptist Church at 445 Suber Rd.
- Greer Cultural Arts Park at 804 Trade St.
Patrol sergeants for each of the four locations arrange activities at each area. Participants may enjoy free drinks and grilled hot dogs, as well as freebies and activities for all ages.
