Upstate, SC restaurants offer free meals to kids in need during COVID-19 outbreak
Several schools throughout Greenville County and the rest of the Upstate, SC announced closures due to the COVID-19 crisis. These leave students who rely on free and reduced meals without access to school nutrition.
Businesses may have slowed down since the novel coronavirus crisis started, but these restaurants are going extra miles to take care of their community. The following is a list of restaurants who pledged to provide free meals for children who are not able to eat at school.
Tipsy Taco is offering a FREE Old School Taco and a side of Rice to any school-age children in any of their 6 Upstate locations, Mon-Fri between 11 am to 1 pm.
Eggs Up Grill’s participating locations including those in the Upstate will be offering a free meal from their kids’ menu from 11 am to 1 pm weekdays.
Farm Fresh Fast in Greenville is offering free children meals starting 3/16 any time, no questions asked. Anyone wanting to donate time, money or product is also welcome.
Tony’s Pizza & Subs in Fountain Inn is offering free personal pan pizzas to any school-aged kids from Monday-Friday, 11 am-1 pm for the next two weeks. No purchase necessary.
Arizona Handcrafted Fare and Drink Co. in Simpsonville is offering (1) free lunch per child, per day, for children 18 & under from 12 pm-2 pm every day while they have supplies.
Holy Mōlli in Spartanburg is providing free meals for children during the remainder of March
Tropical Grille locations in the Upstate are offering free kids bowls with no purchase necessary. Visit from Monday-Friday from 11 am to 1 pm.
Young’s Cafe in Pendleton is offering all school-aged kids free kids meals (K5 through 12th grade). This will start March 16th at 11 am until 2 pm. They will offer this until the end of the month.
House of Pizza & Pasta in Gaffney is offering free child meal size (pizza and spaghetti) starting March 16th for the next 2 weeks during weekdays from 11:30 am-1:30 pm. No purchase necessary.
Wilhelmina’s Kitchen in Anderson will be serving free lunch to school-aged children in the area from Tuesday-Friday 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. No purchase necessary.
Salsarita’s on Pelham Road is offering free kids meals to children between 11 am – 1 pm.
Northwest Grill in Travelers Rest is offering one free kids’ meal per day from 11 am to 2 pm per child. You can also call ahead for curbside pickup.
Anthony’s Pizzeria in Simpsonville is offering a free slice of pizza to any child in need during the school closure. Valid weekdays between 11 am and 1 pm while schools are closed. Just let your cashier know that you would like the kid’s Facebook special.
Papas and Beer locations in the Upstate of South Carolina will offer a free kids burrito or quesadilla meal to kids Monday through Friday from 11 am -1 pm.
Mojo’s in Travelers Rest is offering free kid meals from 11 am-2 pm every weekday for the time being. They’re also available for delivery via DoorDash and with no-contact delivery.
