This Year’s TGIF Concert Will Feature The Spartanburg Philharmonic Percussion Ensemble

The Tryon Concert Association announces that the Spartanburg Philharmonic Percussion Ensemble will perform for this year’s TGIF Concert.

The Spartanburg Philharmonic’s Percussion Ensemble is made up of friends who have been friends for many years. Patrick Lowery, Kevin Maloney, Kevin Mavis, Adena McDaniel, Matthew McDaniel, and Veronica Weygandt are among the group’s members.

Founded in 2016, the group is known for thrilling and unique concerts that accentuate the thrill of percussion instruments with powerful beats and vibrant melodies.

The concert will include compositions by  John Beck, George Hamilton Green, Ivan Trevino, Steve Snowden, Nebojša Živković, and Emmanuel Séjourné. 

The concert will take place in the Tryon Fine Arts Center on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 6 p.m.

 After the show, there will be a meet-and-greet and Covid-19 protocols will be in place.
