The Spartanburg Youth Theatre returns with Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat on October 8 at 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm, and October 9 at 2:00 pm.
The Cat in the Hat, by Dr. Seuss, will be the theatre’s first public performance since February 2020.
The play is based on Dr. Seuss’ best-selling novel, in which Sally and her brother embark on a hilarious journey with the Cat in the Hat, his many props, and his mystery pals Thing 1 and Thing 2.
The cast and crew of the show are made up of local youth in grades 3 through 12. It supports the Spartanburg Youth Theatre’s mission of producing theatre “by youth, for youth.”
All audience, employees, and volunteers will be required to wear face masks as they enter the building and throughout the performance, in accordance with the CDC’s COVID 19 safety recommendations. Seating capacity has also been reduced to two-thirds.
The Chapman Cultural Center is located at 200 E St John St, Spartanburg, SC.
The show is suitable for children aged 4 and up and tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for youth.
