The Hagood Mill Historic Site, in partnership with the South Carolina Entertainment & Music Hall of Fame, invites you to the Melon Fest on Saturday, July 31.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with exciting melon activities throughout the day. Fine Country & Blues musicians lined up all day and JDew, back by popular demand, will be hosting the event.

At noon, Luke Deuce will kick off the musical entertainment. Luke Smith will take the stage at 2 p.m., followed by Freddie Vanderford and Mill Billy Three at 4 p.m.

In addition to the musical entertainment, from 2 to 5 p.m., there will be a petting zoo full of lovely newborn animals. Whole melons, as well as slices, will be available for purchase. There will be a Melon Eating Contest at 4 p.m., as well as a contest for the most festive melon attire.

Kevin Thompson, a historical demonstrator at Hagood Mill, will teach a one-hour blacksmithing beginner session from 11 am to 5 pm. A general admission ticket is required, as well as $20 per person for the one-hour workshop. There are only 6 seats available every hour, so so purchase ASAP.
