“Dreamscapes” will feature around 18 pieces by abstract expressionist artist Rebecca Leidy Splawn, who crafts her works using textured gesso, acrylic, charcoal and oil pastels on canvas.

“In this exhibition, you will find a series of works that are not only a reflection of my artistic vision but also an invitation to the viewer to engage with their own emotional responses,” said Splawn. “Each piece is a mirror, reflecting back the viewer’s own experiences and emotions, and in doing so, creating a unique and personal connection.”

To celebrate the opening of “Dreamscapes,” the Simpsonville Arts Center will host a reception from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 28. The exhibit will be open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, or by appointment. For more information, visit simpsonvilleartscenter.com.
