South Carolina’s annual Tax Free Weekend is Aug. 2-4.
Certain types of goods will be exempt from state sales and local taxes. Shoppers can purchase eligible items both online and in-store. Eligible items include computers, clothing, backpacks, school supplies, and more.
The list of exempt and non-exempt items is available on the South Carolina Department of Revenue website at dor.sc.gov/taxfreeweekend.
“As inflation continues to drain many wallets, this year’s Tax Free Weekend offers some relief for weary families,” said Hartley Powell, Director of the South Carolina Department of Revenue. “Every shopper saves money during this tax holiday, particularly on back to school essentials.”
