The City of Greenville in a press release announced its Electronic Waste and Shredding event this Saturday, August 22, from 9 a.m to noon at the Public Works Facility located at 475 Fairforest Way.
The event will allow residents to dispose unwanted electronic waste and shred paper documents. All paper to be shredded must be bagged or boxed and each person is limited to three large trash bags or three small boxes of paper. Shredding trucks will be onsite until noon, or until all three shredding trucks are full.
City residents and businesses can drop off the items listed below for free during this special event. There is a limit of 10 electronic items per person. The City no longer is accepting fluorescent bulbs for recycling.

- Wires
- Circuit boards
- CPUs
- Scanners
- Printers
- Cell phones and chargers
The city reminds all participating residents to strictly follow COVID-19 safety protocols such as:
- Wearing of masks for anyone unloading materials for recycling
- Employees will not be able to unload cars; residents should be prepared to unload their own materials
