Following the pilot of the mobile vaccination clinics over the weekend, Prisma Health announced that they are set to deploy up to three Mobile Health Clinic vehicles in the Upstate.
The Mobile Health Clinics are custom-built RV-type vehicles that are manned by medical professionals.
When the Mobile Health Clinic vehicles are fully operational, clinics are set to serve areas with healthcare access challenges for vaccinations such as rural and underserviced areas.
“Our team is ready and our trusted community partners, those organizations who intimately know the challenges facing their local residents and whole neighborhoods, are so important in this collaborative effort,” said Dr. Kerry Sease, Prisma Health physician, and COVID-19 mobile operations leader, in a news release. “They will serve as our host sites and help us specifically reach those who are vulnerable, eligible, and ready to get vaccinated.”
The community partners will host the mobile clinics and will also be responsible to communicate the registration information to individuals in those areas.
The next mobile event is scheduled to take place on March 6
