North Carolina Announced Statewide Mask Requirement, Pauses In Safer At Home Phase 2

On Wednesday, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper announced a statewide mandatory mask requirement when people are in public places, as officials strive to stabilize concerning trends of increasing viral spread. The mask mandate will go into effect Friday at 5 p.m.

Cooper also announced that North Carolina will remain in Safer At Home Phase 2 for 3 more weeks as infection rates continue to climb. The “Safer At Home” executive order, signed May 22 due to expire on June 26 will be in effect until July 17.
