National Cinema Day is this Saturday, September 3, according to the Cinema Foundation, a nonprofit division of the National Association of Theatre Owners.
The day is a celebration of movie theaters opening again, according to Jackie Brenneman, president of the Cinema Foundation.
“We’re doing it by offering a ‘thank you’ to the moviegoers that made this summer happen, and by offering an extra enticement for those who haven’t made it back yet,” Brenneman said in a statement.
This one-day event will offer a special discount in over 3,000 theaters and 30,000 screens throughout the country. Every show, in any format, will cost no more than $3 in participating theaters.
The Upstate’s participating theaters are listed below:
- Greenville – Regal Hollywood – Greenville
- Simpsonville – Regal Simpsonville
- Anderson – Regal Starlight – Anderson
- Greenville – Regal Cherrydale
- Spartanburg – Regal Spartan
