After months of shutting down, movie theaters are coming back this summer. Following the reopening of businesses, many theaters in Greenville are also back to offer low-cost family movie deals. And with the reopening of movie theaters, safety measures and guidelines are strictly implemented. Check out some of the movie theaters that are reopening this summer.
Regal Cinemas
Reopening on July 10th and changes includes:
- Contactless payment will be available at the theatre. There will also be online ticket sales as well as online purchases of concessions.
- The use of ULV foggers will sanitize every auditorium and seat after each movie using new electrostatic ‘fogger’ equipment.
- Regal employees will undergo daily temp checks, be required to wash hands frequently, and where the law requires to wear masks.
- Arcade games and vending machines will be closed, as well as drinking fountains.
- Patrons will be encouraged to enter the theatre and head straight to their seats.
- The concession menu will be reduced, and refills on large-sized sodas and popcorn will be suspended.
- Self-serve condiment areas will be closed.
- The theatres will operate at a 50% capacity. When patrons use the online reservation system, it will block out 2 seats between each party.

Reopening is on process but a date for the Spartanburg location has not been announced and when it re-open, policy changes will include:
- Masks and gloves will be required for all employees.
- Temperature checks and health screenings will be done on employees.
- Coca-Cola Freestyle and ICEE machines will be available for customers to use but will be sanitized after each use.
- Free refills on all soft drinks, frozen drinks, and popcorn will continue, with employees using precautionary measures.
- Contactless payment will be available at the theatre, and customers are urged to not use cash for payment.
- Sneeze guards will be installed at the point of sale stations, and social distancing stickers will be on the floors.
- Arcade games and vending machines will be closed, as well as drinking fountains.
- Closed caption headsets will not be available.
- The theatres will operate at a 30% capacity. Patrons are asked to leave 2 empty seats between each party.
- Seats, armrests, handrails, door handles, and cup holders will be properly disinfected between every show.
Camelot Cinemas
Camelot Cinemas has yet to announce its reopening date.
