Council approved a plan for a projected $3.4-$3.6 million surplus in 2023-2024 fiscal year funds. City staff recommended an allocation plan including:
- $500,000 – general fund balance
- $1 million – capital projects fund to support future projects or equipment, and to pay for capital lease principal and interest payments
- $1.5 million – capital projects transportation fund for streetscaping, sidewalks, trails and other transportation-related improvements.
Final approval: Franchise agreement with Ripple Fiber
Council approved a franchise agreement with Ripple Fiber. The internet provider plans to bring its service to the Carriage Run neighborhood off Holland Road and to focus on underserved areas instead of places with two or three providers.
