The U.S. Department of Education has named Langston Charter Middle School in Greenville as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School.
Four South Carolina schools, including Langston, were chosen as 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools. The other state honorees are Academic Magnet High School of North Charleston, Buist Academy for Advanced Studies of Charleston and Sand Hill Elementary School of Summerville.
The school was named an Exemplary High Performing School because its students scored in the top 15% in English and mathematics based on state assessments.
“A lot of our success here at Langston is a testament to our school’s dedication, drive, and willingness to avoid the status quo,” said Langston Charter Middle School Principal David Wooten. “We have a method that works, and I look forward to having the opportunity to share our strategies and contribute to the betterment of education in our state and in our country.”
