The Greenville Symphony Orchestra will offer a free live outdoor broadcast of its opening weekend concert Oct. 6 at 3 p.m. the Peace Center’s TD Stage in downtown Greenville.
The performance will feature Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9” with guest choirs Bob Jones University Chorale, Furman Singers, North Greenville University Concert Choir and soloists Amanda Sheriff, Sara Crigger, Randall Umstead and Adrian Smith under the baton of Lee Mills, Greenville Symphony’s music director.
“Greenville and our surrounding communities have been through an enormous ordeal over the last week,” said Jessica Satava, executive director of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. “At the Greenville Symphony, we’ve been so inspired by our friends and neighbors coming together and helping each other in a time of need. We hope this free concert offers a way for our community to take a moment of respite amid the chaos and experience the healing and uniting power of music.”
The broadcast will feature a live feed of the concert in the Peace Center projected to a screen on the TD Stage. Attendees may bring chairs and blankets to the TD Stage amphitheater area. No registration is necessary to attend. For more information, visit greenvillesymphony.org.
