Greenville County Schools has named Chelsey Troutman as its 2024-25 Teacher of the Year.
Troutman is a third-grade teacher at Brushy Creek Elementary School in Taylors. She was recognized at the school district’s celebration event Aug. 6.
The runners-up for 2024-25 Teacher of the Year are:
- First runner-up: Bryan Raeckelboom, building-construction instructor at Golden Strip Career Center
- Second runner-up: Karla Cannon, a Spanish teacher at Riverside High School
- Third runner-up: Frances McNeely, a math teacher at Wade Hampton High School
The selection process began last fall when each school in the district selected its teacher of the year. Applications were then reviewed by screening and selection committees.
The school district also announced the 2024-25 First Class Teachers and Emerging Teachers of the Year recipients during the celebration event.
Public Education Partners sponsors the First Class Teachers Awards which recognizes two first-year teachers for their exceptional performance. The 2024-25 First Class Teachers are:
- Megan Stanton, a third-grade teacher at Summit Drive Elementary School
- Will Cooper, an English teacher at Mauldin High School
The Emerging Teachers of the Year, sponsored by Greenville Federal Credit Union, highlights two second- or third-year teachers for their outstanding work. The 2024-25 Emerging Teachers of the Year are:
- Eliza Morgan, a first-grade teacher at Lake Forest Elementary School
- Annie Miller, a Spanish teacher at Greer High School
