Greenville County Schools announced new grading procedures for eLearning on Tuesday. Students will be graded based “only on participation and engagement” for their eLearning coursework during the closure of schools due to COVID-19.
Principals and focus groups of teachers from each school weighed in to create a “fair and equitable” grading system in developing the new grading guidelines.
These guidelines take into consideration the fact that students in the non-traditional learning environment may have varying levels of support. Many students may struggle to learn without direct in-person access to a teacher and have varying access to adult help and resources.
