Greenville County Magistrate Court Has Paused Evictions Due to COVID-19

Landlords cannot evict renters who are unable to pay their rent during this COVID-19 crisis as Greenville County Magistrate Court has paused evictions after South Carolina Chief Justice Don Beatty has halted all eviction proceedings statewide in response to the economic disruption caused by the coronavirus. Greenville County Magistrate Court has stayed all eviction proceedings this month until May 1, except in cases that involve “essential services and/or harm to person or property,” according to the chief justice’s order.
