“Impermanence & Abject Space” will open Oct. 4 at the Greenville Center for Creative Arts at 101 Abney St.
The exhibition will run through Nov. 27 and feature works by painter and installation artist Brittany M. Watkins.
For “Impermanence & Abject Space,” abstract paintings will be placed alongside mixed-media remnant works and installations that may blur the lines between painting and sculpture. Watkins’ exhibit also highlights the function of art in society and urges viewers to consider “widely accepted value systems that drive a product-based life,” the gallery said in a press release.
GCCA will host an opening reception to celebrate the exhibit from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 4.
