Greenlink is partnering with United Ministries for a special “food for fare” event to support the United Ministries’ Souper Bowl of Caring food drive.
The aim of this special “food for fare” event is to provide Greenlink customers an opportunity to give back to the community.
“We hope that this initiative will help our clients feel more connected and feel a sense of belonging while contributing to a good cause,” said James Keel, director of Greenlink.
On Friday, February 12, Greenlink will offer free rides in exchange for canned food donations.
For every two canned goods donated when boarding the bus, fixed-route passengers will receive one free ride. Paratransit passengers will receive one free ride for every four canned goods donated when they board the bus.
“With an increasing number of those in need of food in our community, we are especially grateful for the opportunity to partner with Greenlink again for this year’s Souper Bowl of Caring,” shared Lizzie Bebber, executive director of United Ministries. “It takes all of us working together to ensure that Greenville is a place where everyone can thrive, and Greenlink’s commitment to providing reliable, safe, and affordable transportation options meets an essential need in our community.”
Greenlink passengers can schedule their trips by visiting www.ridegreenlink.com. Customers are also encouraged to download the FindGreenlink app in the Android or iOS app store to get real-time bus arrival information.
