The Greenlaw Foundation donated $5,000 to Friends of the Highlanders Foundation during a ceremony at the Greenville County Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Cleveland Park on Aug. 21.
Doug Greenlaw, founder and CEO of The Greenlaw Foundation, presented a check to Greenville County Veteran Affairs Director Alan Dabney, who accepted on behalf of Friends of the Highlanders.
The Greenlaw Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to assisting military veterans and their families, and providing support for veterans in need. Friends of the Highlanders assists first responders and communities facing emergencies and disasters, as well as providing service opportunities for veterans to promote camaraderie and purpose.
Greenlaw is a decorated Army veteran and a past national commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He served as an officer during the Vietnam War, and is a recipient of the Silver Star Medal, two Bronze Star medals and two Purple Heart medals. Greenlaw also helped found Community Journals, which publishes the Greenville Journal, and serves as its chairman.
