Gov. McMaster Likely To Extend The State Of Emergency

Gov. McMaster is likely to extend the state of emergency for another 15 days, according to Brian Symmes, McMaster’s communications director.

“Since the state of emergency allows for enhanced coordination and cooperation among state agencies and we know the coronavirus will still be impacting our state, it is likely that the governor will declare a new state of emergency on Monday,” the governor’s spokesperson said in an interview.

The state of emergency is expiring on Monday, April 27th. Previously, the state of emergency was extended by McMaster on April 12th after initially declaring a state of emergency on March 13.
