COVID-19 Vaccine For Children Aged 12 to 15 Is Now Available At Prisma Health

Following the approval of the Pfizer vaccine by public health agencies, Prisma Health announced on Thursday that it had begun offering the two-dose Pfizer vaccine to children aged 12 to 15.

“We’re thrilled to have an effective and safe vaccine available for children in this age group and urge families to get vaccinated,” said Dr. Rick Scott, co-chair of Prisma Health’s vaccine task force. “Vaccines are readily available at all of our vaccination sites. This shot in the arm is our best shot at helping our area return to more normalized conditions as we go into summer – and if their parents haven’t had theirs … we’ll take care of them, too.”

According to Prisma health officials, signed consent from parents and guardians is required when they bring their child for vaccination. Forms can be downloaded online and are available in English and  Spanish.

Parents can go to MyChart to schedule a vaccination appointment for their children. If the child does not have an account, parents are encouraged to set one up for them or call 833-2PRISMA.
