Beginning November 17, 2021, the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) will offer a new nonstop flight to Nashville (BNA), serviced by Contour Airlines.
Contour Airlines will be the only nonstop service from the Upstate to Music City, according to officials. Tickets are already on sale, starting at $99 and going up to $249 for standard fares.
Contour will operate nonstop flights using a 30-seat Embraer ERJ-135 and an Embraer ERJ-145 airplane. It will operate five times a week, with the exception of Tuesdays and Saturdays.
“Nashville has been one of our most requested destinations for years,” said Dave Edwards, president, and CEO of the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District. “We are excited to announce a new service to a city that appeals to both business and leisure travelers. GSP continues to pursue opportunities that bring our customers more flights to more of their favorite places. We are pleased to welcome Contour Airlines to our family of carriers.”
With the Upstate operation, the airline makes its first entry into South Carolina.
In a statement, Contour CEO Matt Chaifetz stated, “I know that travelers will appreciate the speed, comfort, and convenience of nonstop air service.” “The ability to replace all-day drives with an hour-long flight will enhance productivity for business travelers and give leisure travelers additional time to enjoy all that South Carolina’s beautiful Upstate region has to offer.”
Contour was started in 1982 as a private jet charter firm and is headquartered in Smyrna, Tennessee. The airline has 13 destinations in ten states, including North Carolina and Georgia, as well as California and Arizona.
