Chick-fil-A has introduced an express drive-thru lane exclusively for mobile orders to address its persistent drive-thru challenges.
The process is currently being tested at a limited number of restaurants in the selected areas, and according to the company, it could be the quickest and easiest way to order and pick up a meal yet. The new express lane allows users of the mobile app to pick up their meals without waiting in the lengthy drive-through line.
According to Jonathan Lassiter, a senior integration leader on Chick-fil-Service A’s and Hospitality team, “the express drive-thru lane is a game-changer for our busy customers and our Team Members.”
Lassiter also said that the latest innovation intends to enable guests to go through the drive-thru faster by designating one of the drive-thru lanes solely for mobile order pickup, creating a more streamlined experience for customers who order on the Chick-fil-A app while on the go.
The process of placing the order is simple. Customers will choose a restaurant with an express option when using the app. When they arrive at the restaurant, they follow the signs to the express lane, scan a QR code in the express lane with the app, and then stop to accept their order.
According to a press statement, more express lanes are anticipated to open in 2023 after initial tests of the lanes showed that the new method decreased waiting times.
The Chick-fil-A in Greenville with the express lane is located at Woodruff Road-1225 Woodruff Road and NE Main St.-930 North East Main Street in Simpsonville.
