East Greenville sports bar Local Cue has ceased its sale of alcohol.

The owners cited the rising costs of liquor liability insurance premiums as the reason. Insurance costs have been an ongoing issue around the state, with businesses like Blind Horse Saloon and Topside Pool Club shutting down entirely due to the skyrocketing rates.

The day after Local Cue’s announcement, The South Carolina Bar & Tavern Association held a press conference at the restaurant to discuss mounting premium rates.
