CDC Issues Safety Reminder On St. Patrick’s Day

Despite the fact that St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on Wednesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends staying at home to remain healthy and help others in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Attending gatherings to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day increases your risk of getting and spreading COVID-19,” the CDC said.

According to the CDC, the safest way to gather is virtually, with people who live in your home, or outside at least 6 feet apart.

CDC says that the safer ways to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day is the following:

  • Decorate your home with holiday colors, shamrocks and leprechauns.
  • Make Irish–inspired recipes.
  • Have an outdoor neighborhood celebration with everyone at least 6 feet apart and wearing masks.
  • Watch a virtual celebration.

If you and your family have any plans to celebrate with others, the CDC advises that outdoors is safer than indoors.
