The Barbara Stone Foundation, a nonprofit focused on supporting programs for individuals with disabilities, will host its fifth annual “CAN Talks” program at Centre Stage in downtown Greenville Oct. 22.
Running from 6:40 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the event will feature five Upstate individuals with disabilities who will discuss their stories and insights.
“The level of commitment ‘CAN Talks’ speakers make to be part of this memorable event is extremely admirable, especially since the process of developing their speech comes from a place of vulnerability and is often out of a speaker’s comfort zone,” said Lara Ceisel, executive director of the Barbara Stone Foundation. “Speakers work for months, with the help of a coach, to craft a deeply personal speech. Our speakers’ commitment and dedication to the process builds and improves public speaking abilities tremendously.”
Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. for a cocktail reception; Barbara Stone Foundation Fall Community Innovations Grant winners will also be announced at the event.
Admission is $10 to attend virtually and $25 per person to attend in person. For more information, visit gvlcantalks.org.
