A Barbecue Festival Returns To Williamston This Weekend

Following a two-year hiatus due to COVID, Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park hosts the annual Pig in the Park Barbecue Festival and Cook Off.

Pig in the Park Barbecue Festival and Cook Off, sponsored by the Williamston Masonic Lodge, returns this weekend, May 13 and 14, with sixteen cook teams competing for the championship.

Food sales, craft/vendor sales, and a children’s play area kick off at 12 p.m. on Friday and continue until 9 p.m.

Saturday events will feature food sales, craft sales, a children’s playground, and music provided by The Anderson District 1 & 2 Career and Technology Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Williamston Masonic Lodge will start selling All-You-Can-Eat barbecue sample wristbands for $10 at 10:30 a.m. Judging for the barbecue will begin at 10 a.m., and competitors will begin giving out samples at 11 a.m. The BBQ Championship Awards will be presented at 2:30 p.m.

The event’s net proceeds will go to the Christian Learning Center, Operation Care, and the Williamston Masonic Lodge No. 24.
