South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 770 new cases of COVID-19 in the state Saturday, June 13 of which a third is from the Upstate.
Below are the number of new cases in the Upstate as reported by DHEC:

- Cherokee (5)
- Greenville (157)
- Greenwood (14)
- Laurens (8)
- Oconee (3)
- Pickens (17)
- Spartanburg (41)
- Union (2)
Officials reported six additional deaths Saturday including one in Cherokee and Greenville counties.
The first week of June has seen an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in the Upstate, especially Greenville where it is now identified as a hot spot in the state. Currently, Greenville county has 2,779 confirmed cases.
As of this posting, DHEC announced the statewide total of confirmed cases to 17,955. DHEC reports 70.17% of hospital beds are currently in use, with 523 of them occupied by confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients.
